A great resource for any trip – free searchable and downloadable (PDF format) USGS Enhanced Topographic Maps, allow you to search for a place of interest, and download the relevant quadrants to PDF.

For every trip I go on, I always get the quad of where I will be, as well as the surrounding 8 quadrants, and keep them on my portable electronic device – mainly my phone, which I also use as my GPS.
