With my winter backpacking trip now just a couple of weeks away… I have the awesome chance to really test out some new gear!
So far, the following is all new gear that will first be getting put to use when we hit the snowy and cold Vermont trails next month:
- Kelty Cosmic 0 Degree Sleeping Bag
- Sea-To-Summit eVent Dry Compression Sack (Large)
- Petzl Snowalker 60 Mountaineering Axe
- REI Ditty Bags
- UCO Micro Candle Lantern
- EMS Techwick T2 Midweight Baselayer Pants
- Bass Pro M-Tech Thermal Midweight Crewneck Shirt Baselayer
And there are probably a few other new items I will bring along for the trip, and of course, I will create Just Your Average Reviews, complete with the Miller High Life Rating System!
What part of Vermont will you be visiting?
Southern VT along the Appalachian Trail, near Stratton.
Nice. I hiked down there last summer with my son. Have fun!
Thanks Steve! I’ve done it in the summer before, but not the winter. I am counting the days!
